Look at that intensity in the photo! I feel like a slacker already. Got to go to the dentist today.
7 x 235
7am class brought it, great form from everyone today!
I must have been invisible or Aaron was not referencing me.
my form sucks. I really need to stop being such a meat head and work on form and strengthening my hamstrings. Weakness to be addressed #209
405, 425, 455, 475, 495, 510 (no lift 7…Josh and I both had witnessed enough of my stupidity)
haha, sorry Kevin. My line of sight must not have gotten any furhter than the three feet of 45 plates at each end of your bar :)
was supposed to do 90 percent of PR x7
miscalculated the weight on 1st one

about the article:
Daniel and I have four kids under the age of 9. We haven’t bought any pasta, bread, rice, pop tarts, etc in about a year. It doesn’t exist in our house so they don’t eat it. My five year old went to her first spend the night party last Friday and the mother called me to ask how in the world I taught my daughter to eat vegetables. She said that at dinner she ate her meat and green beans and left her bread and mac and cheese on the plate. I told her about zone/paleo and told her that the kids eat what we eat or they go hungry. Our kids were the easy ones. The hard part is trying to get the Grandparents to quit feeding our kids crap.
Krista, way cool.
Ours is a house divided. Wife and daughter continue high carb-low fat and run on hamster wheel treadmills…Silly BS.
My son and I eat Paleo and Crossfit.
7 @ 165 lbs
Evidently my hips aren’t as wide as I thought… narrowing my stance helped with form. I’m definitely going to miss the constructive criticism over the next 3 weeks. We’ll see what Crossfit Oahu has to offer! :)
7 x 205
275-275-275-275-255-255-275. didn’t feel great today worked on form.
7 x 275
Damn, Deadlifts yesterday.
Anyone running the Krispy Kreme challenge in the morning? My sister backed out, some crap about having to study, but I think she’s just chicken. I have an extra race packet.
Patrick, I think I’d be down with running the KK Challenge if you still have the extra packet. What is the when and where?
Good luck tomorrow Tracey!
I’m planning on running it in the morning. I was going to drop off my registration either before the 5:30 class or after the 4:30 class, depending on what time I get out of work tonight.
Aaron,
The extra numbers already taken, you can sign up at the event.
i worked on DL’s at work…really focused on hamstrings functioning like they should. I’m running a 8k in Clarksville TN. in the morning.
I’m excited to see how my POSE works. I have only run 5k CCC since clinic.
SWEET pictures of the Crossfit Ladies in action. :)
Definitely! Great picture of Katie and Amy T bringing it for Fran last week!
Good luck on your first official POSE run Tracey!! Yes, I was there to witness the hard work that this picture displays!! In Iowa through Monday (early T’giving fam visit), so I’ll see you all when I get back…Quad City Crossfit is here, and their WOD today is the push jerk/L-pull up from last week. I may drop in just to be somewhat active while I’m out of town (and of course to talk about how awesome CF Huntsville is)….
ew ew ew ew ew!! I guess crossfit is not meant to be pretty!
EWWWWWWWWWWWWW is right! haha! Sexy faces! haha
I have fully embraced the whole pregnant thing and am now following (at least most of the time) http://www.crossfitmom.com This site takes the mainsite WOD and basically modifies it for pregnant women. If any of you preggers girls out there are interested in following it, take a look at the site and let me know. Christy and I met up today and did Nehla and had a pretty good workout.
“Nehla”
Advanced:
21-15-9
Box Jumps 20″
70lb KB DL
Pull-ups
10:20 (though I suppose time is no longer the key here as I will be getting slower and slower as I get bigger and bigger…)
7 @ 225.
Patrick,
I “plan” on running tomorrow morning. I’ll puke (no question)…but my goal is to vomit while running without stopping….and not getting it on my shoes.
See yall there.
Worked on strict form today at about 65%
(hurt my back last x fit total-bad DL form)
7 x 275 (pretty good form today)
I watched Kevin eat about 25 cookies last year at a party! He puked after, not a pretty site. There was no running but I think adult beverages were involved in some way.
Someone please take pictures tomorrow! I would be running AND enjoying those Krispy Kremes if I wasn’t in class from 8-5. :( Hopefully I’ll make it to CF during my lunch break tomorrow.
4 rds for time of:
10 rep 185# DL
10 rep burpees
8:47- They were doing the WOD we did last Saturday, so I did what they did yesterday.
On Saturdays they do a tag team-team WOD, so, I plan on doing that tomorrow…Oddly enough, I didn’t bring any shoes to workout in (since 3 months ago when I was up here, there was no CrossFit affiliate), so one of the guys offered to bring me a pair of his wife’s shoes….Nothing says CrossFit family like sharing your wife’s shoes…..:)
Katy,
I could be wrong…But I think we canceled the noon class tomorrow….at least I hope so…Russell is in TX and I believe Josh is out tomorrow as well. I will be able to cover 9am and the 10am yoga and the 11am newcomers but have no childcare after that. I will send an email out as well.
Thanks,
Katherine
Strict Pull-ups 3x max reps
15-12-12
Then
On the minute:
Perform 3 Power Snatches on the minute for 15 minutes.
*Start the clock. At the top of every minute perform 3 Power Snatches.
*use 70-80% of 1 RM for power snatches (used 135#).
Kind of a Death by Power Snatch feel.
Used #95, should have gone a little heavier.
The SWOD was:
Bench Press 3(70%) 3(80%) 3(90%): 155-170-190
Pull Ups 4×10 (1 min rest)
275-295-305-315-325(pr)-335(x)-335(x)
Finally got a new pr on DL. I have been frustrated with my last few 1rm attempts, so this made me happy.
When it comes to nutrition, I’m in a split household also. My wife and son (he’s 2 1/2) eat the “normal” American diet, while I stick to paleo/zone.. My wife is in the 1st trimester with number 2, so eating anything at all is a struggle for her at times. We do eat much cleaner than most typical households and my son even said “no candy daddy, no candy” in favor of apples and organic peanut butter at lunch yesterday. One of my biggest concerns about my children’s diet is what they are and will be offered for food in a school setting. It seems to me that most of our nation’s school lunchrooms are not being very proactive in combating the childhood obesity problem. Much like the author of this article, I have only recently discovered what a powerful thing a proper diet is. My hope is that I can give my children that knowledge much sooner than I gained it.
365-405-415-405-395-395-395
Had ambitions of a PR today, but I realized it wasn’t going to happen when I had a little trouble with 415.
I probably needed to save a little for the krispy kreme run in the morning anyway.
Very cool, too, that I can post on other CF Affiliate sites, with my avatar set up for our site…..
Ah, the little things!!!
Good luck to everyone who runs (and probably throws up) tomorrow! Bring us some donuts!
335#s x 7: Great work-out Jeff and Hudson.
