What is CrossFit ?
CrossFit uses a wide variety of functional movements, ranging from Olympic lifting and gymnastics to sprinting and Rowing. The CrossFit workout of the day, or “WOD” is a constantly-varied mix of these movements, done in a competitive, supportive, and fun environment.
So how do we get individual results with everyone doing the same thing?
The needs of your grandmother and a professional athlete (along with everyone in between) differ in intensity, not type. While some programs avoid teaching movments like the squat and deadlift to all but the most advanced, CrossFit realizes that this movements are natrual and unavoidable for daily living, and teaching somone how to safely and correctly pick up a tractor tire, basket of laundry, or a bag of groceries is key to improving and maintaining quality of life. When scaled appropriately to the abilities of our individual clients, functional movements are both the key to surviving combat and staying out of a nursing home.
Along with expert coaching in our foundational movements, our Coaches regularly provide diet and lifestyle counseling, helping you to build the foundations of a fitter, healthier life.
