I could only find one running shoe this morning, so I had to run in my Toms (or my chinese orphan shoes as Russell calls them). As flat as they are, they force you in to Pose. Heel strikes don’t feel too great.

30 linked pull-ups is a PR for me. The last time I did Nicole was back in March (my second week of Crossfit). I only managed 6 rounds with 47 pull ups then.

Did the GA fitness challenge thing today. Thought I was “viral” before the WOD. Crappy feeling yesterday, head ache, etc…..Did the WOD this morning…..feel like a bus ran over me now…..yep. Definitely sick. (My kids have the unparalleled ability to pass sickness prior to CF events). Anyway. Performance was mediocre at best but I had a great time seeing all the GA crossfit peeps. Wendy and Big Robb also made the trip and it was really nice seeing them again.
Hudson, Leah, Katie all did great! Hudson in particular SMOKED IT! Leah pushed through severe shin pain after a miss on the box jumps. it just looked like it hurt!

-once again pacing the row is essential and once again I did not follow my own strategy. I got caught up in what the guy next to me was doing and sped up my row pace to 1:33-1:35 which smoked my legs for the box jumps. Couldn’t link them together worth a crap which usually is not a problem for me. KBS and Burpees were easy and the thrusters were much harder than they needed to be. Never dreamed that I needed 3 sets to complete 10 85# thrusters…… pathetic.
Overall experience was great though. I love getting to see all the other CF kidz and competition is always fun.

The Georgia Fitness Challenge was a lot of fun! Being my first competition, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Like Kevin said, I did not pace myself at all on the row and think that took a lot of energy out of me, because box jumps felt like hell. I had a hard time catching my breath throughout the WOD, but still managed to finish first out of the females for my heat. Ended up at 10:28. For comparison, the fastest female, Mariah Provost, was 6:35 (or so). Brandon Phillips killed it for the males at 4:55. Josh and Caleb (my husband and brother in law) both ended around 6:23 (or so).
Leah, Kevin and Hudson all did really awesome. Congrats to everyone!
