REMINDER: Athletes who are registered to participate in the Open can come at either 915am or 515pm today, Saturday at 12pm or Sunday at 1pm.

All other classes today will perform the Open WOD, but not for record.

515pm and 615pm classes are canceled today for The Open

 

 

 

WOD 14.1

Complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 10 minutes of:

30 double unders

15 power snatch 75/55  (masters 55 and over 65/45)

Alright CFHSV Open Athletes, this is the time for some of you to get your FIRST DOUBLE UNDER! And we are here to help!

We invite all Open participants who do not have double unders to come for a FREE DOUBLE UNDER CLINIC Saturday from 11am-12pm. We will get you ready to tackle this WOD!

We believe in you!!

      Wow. DU in the first WOD….I have always known they would bite me some day….That is what I get from pretending “I don’t care” about the DU. Truth is I have DU envy but just suck so badly at it that they are just no fun for me. Sort of like Golf…

    If any of you have ever been around me while attempting double unders you will know how mad I get. I know this is going to be a major challenge for me to stay positive, but it’s part of the game! This will make me mentally stronger. May the odds be ever in our favor!

    It was certainly NOT pretty by any stretch of the imagination, but, thanks to some amazing coaching, and the encouragement of EVERYONE, I was able to get the DUs. I smacked the back of my head after every one, but I was able to do 60 and 17 snatches in the ten minutes. I relaxed (best advice I was given), stood there and thought, ‘everyone else thinks I can do this, so it must be true…’ and then just plugged away. I didn’t look at the clock, I didn’t care about how I looked, or whatever obscenity was coming out of my mouth, I just kept plugging away. Tomorrow is my “official” WOD, and I have the mindset, “at least my score won’t be zero!”

    Yeah kind of a douchy move putting DU on the first WOD. Stay positive everyone. I know for one I will try to not break another rope out of anger.

    178 rxd clean and jerks were slow but power snatching would have been slower.
    In 2011, 101 reps.
