Accidently stopped my iPhone timer 3/4 way through course. I restarted it when I realized.
When I came in it read 22:08. I added 30 seconds, but then I asked Kevin what he got.
He came in at 23:08 and I was at least a minute behind him.
Then I noticed my lap timer had recorded 1:35.
So I was probably had a time of 24:43.
Then again 22:08 plus 1:35 is 23:43.
That seems too close to Kevins time though.
So I’m not sure what I ran. Guess I’m just going to
have to run it again at 5:30. ;->
27:00 (PR) I think I could have cut 30sec. off, but I started with the idea that”i wasnt feeling it today.” First time running 3 miles since starting POSE. The POSE method/clinic is very helpful for quicker leg turn over. IM HAPPY 🙂
I’ve had a headache since Saturday so I wasn’t planning on running today but Daniel tricked me into it. I started running with Tracey but she eventually got ahead of me and she stopped her watch when she finished. So, I have no idea what my time was. That’s ok though. At least I ran it and didnt stop to walk or anything. By the way, my headache went away after the run.
Seriously Tracey, it’s no big deal. I’m really just glad I did some sort of a workout today. Thanks for trying to chat with me the first mile. It kept my mind off of the fact that I was actually running, which I hate to do.
Well the first time I ran that course a month ago or so it was pitch black outside and I just did my best to keep Justin and Tony in my sights to figure out where to go. This time I found a side trail that for some reason looked like a familiar route…Turns out I was wrong……haha but thanks for the vote of confidence Kevin
Actually ran CC 5K on Saturday for “practice” since I run like a tree. Untimed because I psych myself out too much watching the clock, but guess it was around 33:00. Better, but not by much. I plan to practice again on Veteran’s Day. Maybe I’ll be brave enough to time it?
23:08 (1:02 off PR)
-I guess diet and rest do affect performance. I ate “the carnivore” pizza (featured on Man-vs-Food…he failed)-It is so large that it does note fit through a standard house door. Have to tilt it to get it inside. ANyways….ate a ton of pizza and ice cream this weekend…numerous good beers…and was up to 1:00am last night landscaping.
-legs and back felt like uncooperative sacks of dirt….felt gawdawful but was actually pleased with the time considering how my body felt.
-enough with the whining. I reaped what I sowed.
Congrats to all the PR’s!!! and congrats to all the CFHSV’rs that ran and placed in Saturday’s race.
Joe C – first place
Craig H – third place
others- ???
Ran the Wounded Warrior’s 5K on Saturday. Yes, The CF guys were the leaders of the pack the entire way…Seemed they were practically at a sprint the whole race…..Great job!
I, on the other hand, ran, and my slow as molasses bum, brought in the stragglers at the end.
Can’t find the times posted online anywhere, but I think my time was 33:00 on the nose.
Thanks to the guys for sticking around (for 13 more minutes) and cheering me across the finish line.
There were a couple of hills at the beginning of the course (Joe tried to warn me) that I just wasn’t mentally prepared for. Plus, it was cold; I was cold….enough excuses yet? 🙂
Never thought I’d admit this, but, maybe b/c I’m familiar with the course, I prefer HSV CC course to the one I ran on Saturday…Ok, enough babbling, today will be a Rest Day for me.
Great times by the lunch class though!!!
Ran the Wounded Warrior 5k race on Sat. Joe C finnished first!!! It was a great run for him-20:20 he was 1st wire to wire. I was 3rd at 21:15 and we had 3 other crossfitters represent us very well (Kerry, JD and Kyle)
Did Filthy 50 today as RX
32:03
(I had the honor of doing it while Russel was standing next to me watching and motivating in his special way)
31:50 – Lady Ann Lake 5K Route (close to home). Originally thought that my time was pretty good but judging by the other times – not so hot. Maybe if I had run the HSV CC course with everyone else, I would have done a lot better.
Ran my “theoretical” 5K because I forgot to set my alarm and woke up at 6:05am. 30:30. Not a PR 🙁 . POSE is helping but I’m having a time trying to coordinate a running pace with breathing capacity. I started really good and tried to keep a pace somewhere close to the 180bpm POSE pace but found I was SO winded so much earlier than pre-POSE. I had to slow the pace to try to breath. For the last km found a great song (not 180 bpm but a pretty quick pace) on my Ipod and was able to kick it harder, but wasn’t able to make up enough time. I’d like to get to that place where I can enjoying running (and kind of zoning out) versus gasping for air and counting every step till I’m done (and also get below 30:00 and preferably below 25:00). Practice, practice, practice!
Karen, I felt the same as you a couple weeks ago. I keep doing 100 yd sprints in sets, followed by the little drills in our POSE booklet. Today was the longest distance i’ve run nonstop. 23 minutes into it, I realized D I forgot my Ipod “DAMN”. I believe that it helped me not to follow the beats per min. of the music, as well as focus on the FALL and QUICKER turnover. The side cramps are no longer a problem. The low profile shoes sorta make my achilles hurt!!! OH well the high heels are off and I will suck it up like a big girl. 🙂
I’m hoping to get another mini clinic at HSVCF soon. A short one…touch up.
Had to row tonight since it was too dark to hit the trail.
26:32 Almost 2 1/2 minutes off my last time!!!
I met Mr. Pukie for the first time tonight. It was a strange, delayed Mr. Pukie though. I felt dizzy all the way to the Publix in Hampton Cove……pulled in and barely got my door open 🙂 I knew I shouldn’t have eaten those dang animal crackers this afternoon.
Good job Emily!
I was bummed it was too dark to run tonight, at least to go for a PR.
20:29 PR by 20:29…first time rowing 5k 🙂
Give me a 5k run any day!
Then 5 K like many rest and diet are crap the last few weeks. I turned a 26 minute on flat ground and thought I dropped an organ while doing it. Definitely not my prime running condition.
28:00…on the dot. 1 min off PR. Two days of Crossfit Huntsville down. Motivated after last night and went and bought myself a little notebook so I don’t actually have to remember this the next time around.
Thanks to everyone who I’ve met the last few days for welcoming a Bostonian to the group. Cheers!
25:33. New pr. Must be the Innov8’s. Late posting ’cause got very little sleep last pm, and no gas for “Cindy” today (Tuesday). Will try to get back on track. Now, if you’ll excuse me…zzzzzz.

19:40 (non-race PR + 30 seconds)
This felt horrible, so I expected to get something like 21:00. I was surprised that my time wasn’t that bad.
30:02 PR Next time sub 30.
27:00 (PR) I think I could have cut 30sec. off, but I started with the idea that”i wasnt feeling it today.” First time running 3 miles since starting POSE. The POSE method/clinic is very helpful for quicker leg turn over. IM HAPPY 🙂

Sadly yes, this was a PR.
Tried to keep with Jeff, but he runs the hills like a mountain goat. Then tried to stay in front of Robert and Will…..but they passed me.
26:59 (pr)
26:03
First time running the HSV CC course. Russell says that’s a PR because it’s better than a 0. I’ll accept that, so PR it is.

IM SO SORRY! I was out of it for a few minutes. Glad your headache is finally gone. I’d say between 29-30 min.??? I had a run retard moment.
Seriously Tracey, it’s no big deal. I’m really just glad I did some sort of a workout today. Thanks for trying to chat with me the first mile. It kept my mind off of the fact that I was actually running, which I hate to do.
27:32
This is not a PR but i have to confess that I got lost and ended up in a neighborhood….My sense of direction sucks
I used to live in those condos….just trying to figure out just what and the hell you did??? Impressive lack of direction displayed : )

28:04 pretty much in the dark… But only 9 seconds off my pr.
