    19:34- 95# and assisted ring dips….Wow, coulda mopped the floor with all of my sweat. Fran has nothing on Elizabeth, when it’s squat cleans.

    As Rx’d 20:47 Didn’t get the full depth on some of these, and some of them I fell on my butt. But these felt better today than they have in the past.

    No drive today. Still have a bit of a runny nose. Maybe I need to take another rest day. I just hate too. I wasn’t tired nor did I have a sore back. I just didn’t want to pick up the bar today.

    Fran 2:56PR (still room for improvement….felt like a 90% effort and I slipped off the PU bar during the 15’s and 9’s…arrgh!)

    Great job William and Karen doing Elizabeth today! Way to suck it up and push through!

    re article: proof once again that nothing is better for kids then just spending time with them, paying attention to them (not park em in front of picture box), and nature walks are the best way to educate them.

    …….but…..if there were a proven video to teach kids to poop in the potty…then I’d be the first in line to buy it!

    I agree with you Kerri…and NOTHING is worse than Fran followed by Elizabeth with full squat cleans. Wow…

    Having said that, I skipped the full squat cleans and went with power cleans because I still felt wrecked from the thrusters and with the whole preggo thing, I decided it was a safe call.

    If I didn’t have to stop and dry heave for a second there, I would have been around 13:30 I think.

    This one was WAY harder than the regular Elizabeth. We should call this one “Evil Elizabeth”

    I got the remedy for poop Kevin. Talk to Krista. Shes got a foolproof method.

    This evening, treadmill 5K at the Matrix. Trying to get my old speed back. Ran 3, 1 mile intervals at a 23 min pace with 1 min rest in between each interval while the kids were in gymnastics class.

    Felt great afterwards.

    Concerning the article:
    I once made a derogatory comment about the Baby Einstein video my cousin was using to pacify her toddler. She was highly offended…and “I just didn’t understand…”
    Good to see some research to support my intuition.

    Christopher McDougall has written a book “Born to Run”, in which he makes the case that humans are evolutionarily adapted for endurance, and more specifically, running… long distance. He spoke at Crossfit LA.

    Daniel, I’m actually reading “Born to Run” right now. It’s a great book, and the Tarahumara Indians he chronicles in the book are an amazing people. They are living proof that human beings are phenominally built machines.

    28:15 Started at 85# and moved to 65# after the first 21 reps. Double count push-ups. I was disappointed with my performance for this workout.

    Thanks you SO MUCH, Kevin and Katherine, for pushing me! I need that! Instead of thinking “I’m so tired” or “A rest is good right now”, I need to be thinking “3-2-1-GO”! It’s good to have people reinforce that!!

    Thanks too, Russell, for pointing out my “cheat” on ring dips. It does make them easier, though! 🙂 But easier isn’t stronger!

    Was wondering whether anyone else catches a 2nd wind in these workouts. The first set and half way through the 2nd I was dizzy after every lift, but then my breathing/head cleared and I picked up speed for the last half. Wondering if anyone knows the physiological mechanism behind that.
