Work scheduled a meeting I couldn’t get out of today……not to mention four days of Bonnaroo means no sleep. Still recovering. 5k should be interesting tomorrow……
last two sets of squats were the choke point. I need to learn how to make myself keep doing squats when the legs start to burn. I think I bail out to soon for a rest. Just need to power through those suckers. One of my favorite WODS.
Nasty 22m30s Girls
the great thing was the muscle ups. my best was ONE in a workout and today I did 21. Although the last 4 i had to jump up – cleans were at 115#. Russell got to witness a great save as my first muscle up was a little strong on the kip and i sent myself right over the top – headfirst to the concrete as i caught myself somehow. still not sure how i didn’t injure myself.
In Tampa this week. Did Mary since I did not last week. On my favorite pull-up bar on the Tampa Bay and HSPU against a palm tree. Not a bad locale.
8 rounds w/ PUs CTB. Down a round probably because last time was not CTB.
Ran 5k around Hampton Cove (same route I always run). 30:32. I must have stepped in concrete or something, because my shoes felt so heavy today! The whole route was an effort!
ran 5k on the trail 22.44 — frustrated with the time. The run felt great and it was feeling like a PR…then to look down and see I was off 38 seconds from PR was annoying. Stupid slow legs………
12:57… kipping pull ups, rubber bands assisted ring dips, 65#
Really proud of the pull-ups… linked all 7 the first two rounds, then 5-2 (had to fight for the last two)

Still not able to get a muscle up! Frustrating! Did mat assisted muscle up, which was still quite challenging. Rest of workout was rx – 23:16.

10:20 got hung up on the muscle-ups on the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

Wow! I was so stoked after this workout. First time completing a WOD including muscle ups as rx’d.
