      Actually I think its all about what party holds the power. Right now it’s Dems. In a term or two it’ll switch back, as it always does. Democracy in action.

    This one was all kinds of pain. Started feeling blisters forming on my heels, so kicked off the shoes. FYI, rowing without shoes SUCKS!!!

    Also, I saw on the news this am that Fleet Feet is doing a shoe drive for Haiti. So, if you’ve got some cushy worn out running shoes that are crowding your closet, this is a perfect opportunity to make a small difference!!

    People may already know this but I just learned it on Saturday. I always order a grilled chicken sandwich at chik-fil-a and just eat the chicken and lettuce an throw the bread away. I also order the fruit cup instead of fries. Well, the manager saw me not eat the bread and informed me that I could just order a grilled chicken fillet from now on and not have to pay for the bread.
    Also, at Mcdonalds, you can order just eggs and just bacon and they will cook the eggs any way you want…boiled, scrambled, etc.
    Just FYI in case you have to eat fast food and stil wanna eat something kindof healthy.

      Krista, THANK YOU for that tidbit of info! I do the exact same thing at Chik-Fil-A and had no idea I could order just the breast. Good to know!

    Scaled to the running (Grrr….) and 15 rep thrusters with the bar to improve form. Never quite heard length of run, 400m or 500m? Completed 2 rounds plus run for 3rd round – left early. As far as the Zone – have several additions from Friday night to the wall of shame. Nothing horrendous and basically equivalent to less than what my pre-Zone diet would have been on any given day. However, I felt like total crap the next day, actually started missing the Zone food (well, sort of!). Have lost weight, but noticed more loss in inches. Most importantly, am not tired ALL the time – even after the last wacky week!

    First workout back since the stomach Virus from hell last monday night. Felt pretty weak, but definitely well enough to come back. The only thing lingering from the illness is some bad heartburn. Weird.

    My goal is Rx. But, 135# Thrusters would have been a bunch of singles and doubles with lots of standing around looking at the bar. Scaling this one may have actually upped the suck factor.

    ~21 min as rx’d (notebook out in the car). 400m runs subbed for rows. Broke in the new INOV8’s.

    Trying to eat better today too. Gave up both sweet tea and Diet Coke. What do I drink now??? UGH!

    17:17, scaled to running, and 95#. Left knee better, but even if it was 100%, still probably couldn’t have done this @ 135#. Thrusters were broken too– only got 5 unbroken.

    5 Reps Locked Overhead (anyway possible) 185 lbs
    10 Push Ups
    15 GHD Back Extensions

    7 rounds + 5 back extensions

    22:50-as rx’ed with the 400m run instead of row. Dangit.Def not my choice!!
    Rowing is my virtue, running is my vice….
    Soooooo, Joshie Poo picked running for me. He’s adorable. If it weren’t his birthday yesterday, I prob woulda been real mad at him….=o)

    Karen, it’s time to get into coffee!!! It does a body good!

      I would, but to make coffee drinkable, I have to add cream and sugar. At that point I might as well have sweet tea, because it takes a BUNCH of sugar to make coffee palatable to me.

    Sinus infection today, still worked out, but had very little energy. 21:29 as rx’d. 135 thrusters were heavy 4 me. However,coming in today I was thinking 15:00 would be a piece of cake, Ha!

    Cutoff- 20:00 Just 5 scaled 45# thrusters shy of finishing- Russell wouldn’t let me run:( One of the toughest workouts cardio-wise- or maybe I’m just tired!Midnights are killing me with 5:30am wake-ups with my youngest.

    Sorry we missed the b-day, Josh- I had to work and Nate was on solo Dad duty! Sounds like it was a great time!

    Did only 3 rounds, since I had to leave early. 13:30, I believe, not sure, trying to remember how much I was so to subtract since I was in the 2nd heat. Ran, instead of row, but did I run 400 m or 500 m? I was being a sheep and followed the crowd and forgot to ask. 10 reps of 45# thrusters x 3 rounds…slow and steady! Am I tortoise or a sheep?

    Workout at Crossfit Vancouver (30 people in the class)

    Warm up:
    5 rounds:
    6 turkish getups @25#
    200m sprint

    Then Partner workout:
    21-15-9
    Overhead squat @95#
    abmat situps – hands on head
    summo deadlift high pull @ 95#

    You couldn’t go to the next exercise until both partners finished all reps. Only thing I had to break was first round of OHS (15,6) partner did all 21 inbetween. Last few OHS got sloppy and I was on my toes.

    Great workout at an affiliate I enjoy.

    As Rx’d but this one was heavy feeling for a Monday. Probably need to eat more food, because I ran out of gas quick.

    20 minute cutoff, 3 rounds + 4 thrusters.
