I plan to log a few miles with my CF brothers and sisters tomorrow, but have no desire to be doing a time-trial 5K. So I’ll be at the X-C park 11am, and will pace anyone who has a specific time goal. For instance, if you desire to hit the 28min mark, I’ll go out with that person(s) and set a pace to hit that time; all you have to get on my hip and hang on!

Hello CFHSV and all AJ WOD attending athletes. I am so sorry I cannot be there to support such a great person, community, and cause. Please know my prayers, heart, soul, compassion, and CrossFit joy is with everyone of you in Spirit. Tear it up for AJ. AJ you are so great and special. I believe. God Bless, Coach DB.

Are non-crossfit friends allowed to come and try crossfit out at AJ’s WOD?

    • Erin,

you must have completed a fundamentals course at a certified Crossfit affiliate or hold a level 1 cert in order to partake in the workout. Anyone is more than welcome to come and show their support but this will be a fairly high skilled workout and not one that someone should be thrown into without any experience of a high intensity training.

  4. Courtney Meyers says:

I know some other people have invited non-crossfitters to come tonight so I guess it’s okay?

  5. I love this community! says:

Like Coach DB, I deeply regret that I can’t be present at the WOD for A.J. I know everyone will pour every ounce of themselves into this WOD, and I’m proud to be a part of this family!

Remember A.J., Only GOD can turn a MESS into a MESSage, a TEST into a TESTimony, a TRIal into a TRIumph, a VICTim into a VICTory. GOD is GOOD!

Lets get some parallel bars at CFHSV I like the Man Test!

Crap… I texted Tracey yesterday to ask if non members could attend and WOD and was told, yes, come early so they could sign a liability waiver. I have two friends who have been interested in CF and I recruited them heavily to attend tonight. I just spoke with them and had to tell them one hour before we are leaving that I had wrong info and they’re pretty bummed–they both made sitter arrangements and planned their entire day around this. I don’t blame them for not wanting to attend to watch in this heat when they were excited about WOD’ing. I can’t leave them hanging.. I’ll come by with my donation, but I won’t be able to WOD. I’m so sorry, Amanda–I’m stuck after begging them to do this and now turning around and telling them they can’t. 🙁

  8. Mandee Miller says:

I’m so sorry for any confusion but we have decided that non crossfitters CAN participate tonight in the AJ WOD. Tonight is all about raising money for Amanda, so the more people the better! Hope to see you all there!!!!

    • Tasha W says:

Thanks for allowing my friend, Kathi, to attend. I have never seen someone so excited to WOD! She read about AJ on Facebook and really wanted to be there. I was happy that she was still able to come after I’d already told both friends they couldn’t come (the other friend couldn’t reverse her plans since she’d cancelled her sitter.) Anyway, it was awesome seeing someone who’s been doing Women’s Boot Camp for over a year talk about the difference in the workout, the atmosphere, and the PEOPLE. Everyone was so warm and welcoming to her and that made me so happy. Thank you, thank you for making the decision to let others WOD with us. I think we may possibly have a new CF’er on our hands! 🙂

      • Kerri says:

There’s no better way to introduce someone to the CF Community like tonight’s event!! I’m thinking we’ll see Kathi’s Boot Camp-ing self around soon! Way to go Tasha!

  9. Ben says:

One year ago today I attended my first Crossfit class, a Saturday intro class with Dennis. Hard to believe its been a year already!

  10. Eric Hedges says:

Congrats on one year Ben! I see you putting up a good number of PR’s at Powerlifting so it must be working.

  11. AJ says:

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!! Tonight was so special to me.

  12. Josh Kennedy says:

Wow, what a tremendous, powerful event this evening! Lots of money, lots of jaw-boning with some great folks, and lots and lots of effort into that WOD….and all for A.J.!

Serious kudos to Jake, Tracey, Mandee et al for planning and executing the event. You pulled it and made it look easy.

188 Rx’ed (41+39+58+50) total score for me. I entered the cone of suffering about halfway into the pistols, only person I was aware of was Brady, my gracious grader.

Add in the 8mi I did midday at the X-C park (2mi w/u, 3mi run WOD, another 3mi for kicks)

  13. whit says:

does anyone know when/where the results will be posted?

  14. Ben says:

I think my score was 168. I don’t know what the breakdown was. I scaled the pistols and did 1 pood on the swings.

  15. Jamie Flynt says:

Great time today with all local CrossFitters. Great to see other affiliates come support a great cause.

  16. Josh M says:

    Awesome. Night!

  17. Rich says:

163 reps rx’d…great time today and so proud to be a part of the CrossFit Huntsville family! Thx to Impulse and Nomad for coming out in support for such a great woman and friend!

  18. DaveC says:

Through the “dog days” of this summer I’ve struggled to maintain my enthusiasm at the gym. Yesterdays event reacquainted me with the “spirit” of Crossfit, and that of CFHSV in particular. Good to get that back for a while. Even better was seeing AJ back in the gym, smiling and strong.

  19. AndyK says:

Thanks for making the decision to allow non-members to participate. As a coworker of Amanda’s I was honored to be able to go through the experience and suffering. Awesome group of people, very impressive routine, and thank you for the hospitality! Great way to spend an evening.
