Thanks everyone! I may just get rid of that 3 C-Section pooch yet πŸ™‚ More importantly I feel great! Forcing myself to rest today. It would be day 4 for me, and I am sooo sore from yesterday! But feeling like I can do anything after going RX’ed!

I’ve got a little time this morning, so here’s my Crossfit story: Once life settled into marriage and working I began to realize I was lost without a sport. From a young age I always had a sport. Soccer, gymnastics, basketball, track, cheerleading, softball. And now I was sitting in a cube 10 hours a day with maybe a company softball game occasionally? This was it? So I did a few boot camp classes, started running 5ks, eventually sprint triathlons and it did wonders for my state of mine. One day I saw on FB about a free Crossfit session. I had two kids at this point, was a stay at home mom, and needed something, anything to help pull me out of the post baby funk. So I came. Wow. I didn’t know a ton of people and it seemed crazy with all the rips and bruises but after awhile my body looked hotter than even before kids and I couldn’t stop talking about it.I felt like I could do anything! Drove David crazy. He was heavy into mountain biking and trying as hard to get me into that as I was him Crossfit.

Then I got pregnant with Rachel and I was terrified something would go wrong. So I sat down. On the couch. For nine months. Then delivery complications. I had every excuse in the world as to why I couldn’t take one hour a day to fight for myself, for my fitness. Instead I was irritable. Very.

Meanwhile, early in the pregnancy a patient’s amazing bloodwork results convinced David to give Crossfit a try. I have to find a before picture of him, that’s a whole ‘nother wow. He was sold. And quite frankly if David said “Crossfit will make you feel better” one more time I was going to give him a black eye.

But touche my love, for it is Crossfit that has been an integral part of pulling me out of this hole of darkness, introducing me to some of the strongest, most amazing woman I know. Thank you coaches, thank you fellow Crossfitters. You all have something really good going on here, and I am happy my family is a part of it.
