Worst.Decade.Ever – Reason TV
Here is the video. I am a beginner at video editing, so I welcome constructive criticism. I tried watching it full-frame, and, since it is HD it looks pretty good that way.
I am still working on the Barbara video.
Cool video. It’s always fun to watch the before and after, and it’s always funny to see how quickly “non-runners” pick up on POSE compared to well established heel-strikers.
Good Job Garth. Your before and after wasn’t on the video???:(
Since I did not really practice, there was not much after. Since I do not enjoy running much, it is hard to get me to practice.
Here is a quick video of Russell doing Fran.
I am experimenting with Vimeo vs YouTube. Vimeo forces you to pay for a membership to upload more than one video per week and charges if a video is watched too many times. The new YouTube HD is supposed to have much better quality and comparable or better than Vimeo. The video is still processing as I post this (still watchable), so I have not been able to compare. Again, I could use suggestions on how to do this stuff. These are my first two videos uploaded anywhere.
This looks good! Like the black and white look….if only the music were a little louder!! =o)
Great job Russell! (And Garth)
Garth, I saw your video shared on Facebook. Awesome job. I have been experimenting with Youtube and Vimeo as well, with mixed results. I would be a 100% Youtube fanboy if their music copyright detection wasn’t so damn good. I’ve even had them detect songs that were playing on the stereo in the background during a WOD. I once used a song as a soundtrack to a video in Windows Movie Maker and they immediately flagged it and muted the audio. In essence, Youtube prevents me from doing custom mashups (and may even bite me in the ass because of what’s playing in the background during WODs). However, it has huge brand equity and trust. If I use Youtube, people who are searching fitness related topics will eventually find the videos (and possibly benefit). Vimeo’s paid tier was also a turn-off, and I want to be able to upload more than one HD video per week. Youtube’s channel interface is also nice. Right now my solution is to use Youtube for everything but my mashups, which I upload to Vimeo. It’s an imperfect solution, and if you find a better one please let me know.
Looks awesome!!!! I agree, the black and white looks great!
Back Squat 5×5: 225-235-245-255-260
Great videos!! Thanks Garth for putting those up there!
Russell you are a beast.
Was feeling good until my shoe lace broke and I had to put on the Rouge weightlifting shoes. I feel goofy and those and stopped getting under the weight well.
Interesting results from my 3 months of Starting Strength Novice Programming and GOMAD. Lean Body Mass in October = 135lbs. (155# BW, 13% BF) Lean Body Mass today = 135lbs. (165# BW, 18% BF)
Got stronger in the slow lifts Squat, Press, Bench and DL. Power Clean only went up 5 lbs but I didn’t train it much because of the GloboGym factor.
So, I figure the strength gains are from improved neuromuscular efficiency and experience with performing these specific lifts, not from an increase in muscle mass.
Garth, the Fran video is awesome. Russell, now I know why you dont count many of my butterfly pullups. That was impressive and educational. Did football gone bad today with PP substituted for rowing.
I really hate the push jerk. I’m much more comfortable with the split jerk.
Finally got over the mental block of getting 225 overhead. I agree with Kevin I’m much more comfortable with the split jerk.
The last day before Zone challenge…Terry’s pizza!!!!!!!!
I had the ‘new and improved’ Domino’s (thin crust)last night…Just for convenience sake, Joe and Tommy!! Your pizzas are still the BEST! =o)
Don’t know what it was (maybe knowing I won’t have anything of the sort for the next 30 days), but, the ‘new and improved’ Domino’s was SO tasty!!
We had Domino’s last night as well…..so much better!
