Marine Capt. Garrett T. “Tubes” Lawton, 31, of Charleston, West Virginia was killed by an IED strike in Herat Province, Afghanistan on August 4, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Trisha, and two sons, Ryan, 6, and Caden, 4.

    Hero WODs are always special ones…..Give it your all on this one today. Great reminder of all that has been sacrificed for me, my freedom, and safety. Especially when I am able to get out and enjoy a more than perfect day like today. Thank you ALL for your service!

    Really enjoyed the run, Kerri! I agree–what a perfect day! I know I didn’t get any WODs in this weekend, but I sure have enjoyed these runs in the sunshine!

    2 rounds plus 75 squats and 15 hspu’s @ 30 min. cut off. This was a grueling wod. Rest in peace Garrett.

    Ahhh hell….rowing a 5k is the only thing that has made me meet pukie…….I dread this like no other.

    Scaled to regular HSPU: 30:57

    2 rounds + 35 squats
    scaled to kipping HSPU, and for each round of L-pullups I did 10 strict and 15 kipping, then 1 minute L-hold.

    Looking forward to running- Did an interval workout today and nearly puked…but it would have been so much worse if I had not done Crossfit all winter…

    Really awesome to see the “in honor of…” WOD’s. We’ve lost some good buds as well to deployments and they will never be forgotten.

    In Memphis. No pullup bar. I wasn’t sure of the sub for L-pullups and couldn’t get the connection to BrandX to work well on my phone so I made something up.

    3 rounds completed of:

    75 squats
    25 head to ground HSPU (strict)
    3 minutes L-hold

    Took forever!
