Took a week off to taper for the Mtn Mist, today was first day back after the race. Scaled the DL to 185# and completed in 8:29 (first round of double-unders were not going smooth)
Off day…..
Yeah, I think I’m going to start resting up for this weekend. Jake whooped us last night with his choice selections from the suck buffet.
6:28 RX’d
First round of DU’s I tried to do too fast, waisted too much time there. Second round linked 44, and last round was unbroken.
9:30 @ 105#. I could blame my time on not having my regular rope…but…it is really attributed to my mastery of the donkey kick.
Mandee rocked her DUs today!
If it is on the interwebs then it HAS to be true.
Carbs help you lose weight.

I saw this too…so much contradicting info out there! So aggravating!
If carbs helped me lose weight I wouldn’t be fluffy right now 🙂
Wow… that’s an interesting load of poo.
How about: “8 way that Meth helps your teeth”
Bahaha…good correlation. Ugh meth mouth…sick. This article is already causing my coworkers to say “see”
ha….Garrett’s mom is already convinced we are hurting ourselves by staying away from grains and dairy…Lord help us if she reads this.
Kevin I’d call that criminal neglegence. Information like that kills people.
To shake things up a little, I decided to kick off my return to SF a few new PRs, based on the CFHSV Athlete Tracker worksheet. Almost every day, I’ve been going into the gym with the goal of achieving at least one new thing on the worksheet before or after class.
So far:
Tue 1/18 – tried to break 7:30 for 2k row (failed. 7:30.8, will try again soon)
Wed 1/19 – 50 unbroken double unders. (success, finally got 56 after 300 total reps of tries)
Thu 1/20 – 25 unbroken hip extensions, 25 unbroken back extensions
Fri 1/21 – Lynne 7/20, 7/20, 7/30, 6/20, 6/20 = 143PR
Mon 1/24 – Helen 8:55PR, Annie 7:54PR (I’m going to try Annie again when fresh)
Tue 1/25 – Grace 6:42PR (after a class, so knew it would be sluggish)
Wed 1/26 – 20 unbroken ring dips (did a set of 21 before class)
I may not stay strict on one per day, especially since the low hanging fruit is getting cleared out, but it has been fun going for these.
Love your enthusiasm, but Damn… that’s a lot of training. Your doing this before or after the daily WOD? Double or Triple WOD’s day after day? What’s the rush?
Good point about too much training. I will cut back for the long-term.
can’t catch my breath………………dang it. I hate it when it doesn’t look bad on paper and you get to class and the warm up kills you. 10:37 at 185#. Brian and I left with some nice whip marks from our ropes.
Scaled deadlifts to 5 reps @ 275# to keep from over-working today. Double-unders as rxd.

Epic is a good word to describe that! I won’t feel quite so bad next time I eat some Ben & Jerry’s after a long run….

3 muscle ups
6 back squats at 165#
9 KB swings 2 pood
12 GHD situps
15 pullups
Then 5 rounds 30 sec on/30 sec off on the Concept 2
Finished off with some mobility stuff.
