Today’s word of the day was perseverance. Of all the WOD’s we’ve done, I never thought DU’s would mentally break me…and they came close. But I persevered and was able to get legit DU’s on the last 10 reps. My time pisses me off, but what I love about CF is I learn something about myself every time, good or bad workouts. Annie…your mine next time.

did endurance run WOD, except i subbed rest with the Rx’d sit ups for today’s WOD. I really havent been able to practice my pose running and I will need some “in depth” tutoring on du’s.

-Very excited about today’s WOD. First time I’ve ever linked all DU’s as rx’d. Even had a knot in the rope for the 20’s but they were hitting so I just left it be. Still a bunch of work on form needs to be done. I waste energy jumping to high on the DU’s…….there is ALWAYS something.
6:38 sit ups were with unanchored feet, hands behind head (they slipped off a few times on the way up though). Almost linked all DU’s but missed a few. Like Kevin I am still wasting way too much energy on my DU’s by jumping too high….
Back squats, 5×5 @ 275 pounds (i’m a day behind)
I’m more than a day behind, but since I can’t do DU and no clue what the scaled version is, did yesterday’s…scaled for hotel w/dumbbells: 2×5 w/55’s, 2×5 w/65’s, 1×5 w/85’s. + 50 su for fun. woohoo!

This was also the first time I didn’t come in last (or next to last) since starting Crossfit about 6 weeks ago so I am feeling good tonight!

9:06 Not PR. Grrr. Finally got the swing of DUs at 20 round… felt sluggish all around. May have been the amount of sugar I consumed yesterday. Poor performance definitely motivated me to steer clear of baked goods at the office today.
Mandy, right there with ya. Finally started rolling with the DU’s at 30 round. And, I don’t know what it was about yesterday at our office, but there was cookie cake, homemade cheese danish (that I brought in, hoping it’d get consumed;SCORE!), and KK doughnuts…. Think I would’ve done better had I not visited the cookie cake a couple of times….

This one didn’t leave me too tired… probably because I spent alot of time trying to get the rope unwound from my head, legs, arms, etc. I find that a small drop in energy leads me to a huge drop in coordination. One day I’ll figure out the magical secrets of double-unders.
16:26 as rx’d. Double unders were VERY slow and broken until mid-round 3, then finally started to link a few. Good WOD, and great double-under practice.
