Brandon a beast
Man I can’t tell you how much Mandee and HEAD COACH have helped me. I tell people all the time I would never make the CrossFit Games without their help. They take so much pressure off of me especially in the qualifier.
Something that the coaches do for me that really helps is they perform the workouts for me and I watch. Then we talk about the workout and decide how I need to attack the wod. I also ask other people in the gym to do these workouts for me because the coaches can’t do them all. This year Tim Sargeant and CJVK did one for me. Can’t tell you how much this helps.
This year the Games workouts were not posted early enough for me to do so the coaches and other people from CrossFit Huntsville who are in Wisconsin did them at Dane CrossFit and I watched them and maybe learned something. Bradley Futch and CJ did the long chipper for me today in open gym along with 2 other workouts at Huntsville. I have watched their videos many times. People are always willing to help me anyway they can.
But back to the qualifier. Once you make top 200 in the world. You get to compete in the ONLINE QUALIFIER. You will receive 5 workouts and you have 4 days to get them all done. They have to be videoed and you have to have a judge in the video at all times. There are a lot of other requirements that you have to do also. It’s a very intense time doing these workouts because you know you are only getting one shot at it. But, here are some things that happen while doing the qualifier workouts.
We have the qualifier workouts down to a science at CrossFit Huntsville. We got it down so good that in qualifier 4. In the middle of the wod. HEAD COACH cut the music off. Briefed the 11:30 class. Then turned the music back up. I promise that did happen this year. Two years ago. HEAD COACH said 3-2-1 GO. And I tear off in the wod and about 2 minutes into it. HEAD COACH yells Hold up Hold up!!!!!!! We (HEAD COACH) didn’t start the clock. So I had to start over. One of my strong points in CrossFit is that I listen to my coaches. I do what they tell me to do. Two years ago I had this workout that had c2b in it and I was really nervous about it. Ol HEAD COACH said we got this buddy. So in the first set of my c2b I hear HEAD COACH yelling. TURN AROUND. TURN AROUND. So I dropped off the bar. Turned a complete circle and went back to doing c2b. He meant turn around and face the camera. I said. Well why didn’t you just say that. All this is going on in the wod. It’s always something going on in a qualifier wod.
I have had so much fun doing these but like in life. You can plan it out but things will go wrong. You have to be ready to go with the flow.
Opening ceremony starts at 9:00am in the morning.
HEAD COACH has been doing really good so far. He has been smoking in the designated areas and has not yelled at one person. I’m so proud of him.
Love these posts Paul. You will do great because you are a great athlete and because you have the best coaches in the world! Nate and Mandee go above and beyond for their athletes! No one else out there like them ❤️❤️❤️
Keep up the good work Brandon!
I love these posts, Paul! Thank you for sharing! You’ve got this! #ttptb

Gotta pay the Price to get swole like Brandon. Brandon has come a long way since joining CFHSV. He’s turned his health and fitness around like so many of us and is enjoying the fruits of his labor. Great job and keep it up!
It’s so great reading these posts! I’m thinking maybe you should write a book after you win this year!
Another one of CF HSVs finest athletes and all around good person! He helped me so much with understanding nutrition I can’t thank him enough! Plus, he has the best one liners on Tyler’s posts 😂.
Love reading the posts from Wisconsin! Good luck tomorrow!! You’ll do great!!
Duke! Man, you’re such a hoot! You got this my bro!
Brandon focusing on that weight and getting ready to crush it! This guy is super nice and super strong. Keep at it, stud!

Big Dog on the hunt! Guarantee he got 218 compliments on his arms since this photo was posted last night. Somewhere in Madison, WI a karaoke bar is having their basement flooded with his immaculate crooning – sounds like a mixture of Fergie and Jesus.
