Sleep Paraysis: Awake but still sleeping?
I have a couple sleep disorders. Sleep paralysis is one. I’ve laid there unable to move for up to 10 to 15 minutes before. Usually the only thing I can do is move my eyes, grunt, and sometimes I can shake a foot or clinch my fist. Most of the time my Fiance is with me, so I can start breathing loud or grunting and she will shake me out of it, but when I’m alone it’s terrible. Shaking a foot really hard for a little bit normally gets me out of it. Sometimes nothing works and I just lay there motionless. It’s hard to breath and it really sucks.
I also sleep walk… and sleep eat. I’ll wake up in front of the fridge sometimes. A couple weeks ago I woke up with a dairy taste in my mouth. I walked into the kitchen and a whole tub of cottage cheese that I had bought the night before had been eaten. I didn’t remember any of it. I’ve done the same thing with peanut butter before.
Yeah… I’m a freakin wierdo. As long as I stick to eating in my sleep and not walking out into traffic naked, I’ll be good.
Will “Wakes up” in the strip club all the time. It’s a crippling disease!

I could only imagine “driving” that car home after a WOD in our current gym…..in Alabama……in August.

After watching the “toy car” video… I can imagine getting behind this goob when your tired, stressed and trying to get home at the end of a busy day.

Thanks. DU’s felt really good. I actually think the last couple wods fatigued my shoulders enough to where they were obsolete from my DU’s and I had to use proper technique with my wrists. I wonder if that was intentional…
FYI in case interested. EBAY has the black INOV-8’s (the flat ones) for 50.00 buy it now.
They don’t have my size available but hopefully yall might be interested. Pretty good deal. And INOV-8 tend to run small so if you normally wear a 10.5 then youll need to order an 11
Inov 8 is about to release an F-lite 190 (even flatter and lighter than the 220)
They should be available within the next month or so. Of course, they’ll be $100 for awhile.

Situps still slow me down. Not much to do there to improve other than just doing them faster.

I had 30 unbroken du’s in warmup. When the wod started and the music got cranked up, I completely lost my rhythm. So frustrating.

8:38 First time with Annie. Double unders flowed “like butter drippin off a hot biscuit” (name that quote anyone? not you Aaron!) Sit ups were tough. With abmat or without abmat, equal suck.
With all the PR’s, maybe a new nickname for the gym is in order, afterall “such a multitude of masculinity […and femininity] could only be found in one place and that was O’Malley’s Alley.”

-56 seconds slower than PR but the way my DU’s have been going…I”ll take it!
-the round of 40 was a disaster that probably accounted for most of the lost 56 seconds
14:02 Annie was an epic failure for me today. I knew I didn’t have DU’s today but stubbornly decided to try to find them in the workout. After doing both the 50 and 40 round at nothing more than 2 or maybe 3 linked, I admitted defeat and went to singles. What a suckfest. Singles would have gotten me there so much faster since they were virtually unbroken.
Did this one at home. 7:50. Found some of my double unders but then the braid in my hair fell out so my ponytail kept hitting the rope and screwing up the rhythm! But I was able to make it through the 20 count round unbroken – minimal ponytail interference 🙂 Just happy to hit the rhythm again! So, like KLowe, I’ll take it! It is at least 3 minutes faster than last time. But last time, I wanted to chuck the jump rope out my back door.

7 sec slower than my PR…DUs were crap the first round…couldn’t hit more than 9 or 10 at a time. Caught up the last 3 rounds….hit a better stride.
I’d kill or do something very embarrassing for that time!
I forgot my time…i think sub 9 min. I did single unders, while Kevin did his du’s. Then I sorta found the du’s at 4:30. I have no idea why this is a horrible exercise for me, but it is. I want to pee the intire time reguardless if I just went pee or not.
It is something that has to be practiced often…therefore thats why I still struggle with them.

No rope, and I figured trying to do du’s with a fire hose would be a bad idea so I made up box squats from Sunday.

Roughly 16 mins of work and probably just shy of 3 miles. My legs are trashed. I appreciate Jake coming out and doing this one with me. This wod was a good one, especially if you’re not familiar with pacing yourself or dodging pee wee football kids and their parents. I hope more people come out for these runs.
Next CFE wod is Thursday, 8/19/10: 5K TT, RPE 85% not going all out on this one.

9:10 as rx – PR by almost 2 minutes (last Annie was 11:02). Double-unders are much better (is it the Buddy Lee Rope?) but sit-ups will always be slow…
First time with Annie…subbed tuck jumps for DUs. 9:55.
11:02 as rx’d – DU were okay in first and second rounds, crappy in the third, and better in the fourth and fifth. Sit ups should have been faster. I get that sore on my tailbone that drives me crazy. Any suggestions?
