5:14 (PR). Demonstrated how gravity works for the 7 am class when my grip failed mid-rep on the last pu (at 4:55). Thanks to everyone for the encouragement today.
Fran: what Craig said. 2:45 – STILL FALLING off the PU bar during the 15’s and 9’s. Soooo frustrating! Totally did not expect to PR today but obviously happy with the results.
Gawd the fall that Tony Z took had to hurt….I could hear the concussion as it happened. Dusted himself off and finished like a champ! Props!
Overslept this morning so I had to make it to the 11:30 class, wish I could have been there this morning guys. Still frustrated with “Fran” or any workout that has thrusters in it. I get another shot at it this weekend at my Level 1 Cert and i’m getting sub 5 even if it kills me. Great time Tony and Justin you guys flew through this one!!
OMG! That’s about all I can say after Fran. Thank you Russell for making me try to do it as rx’d. I made it through the first round with 21 real pull ups! That’s a PR for me. I had nothing left after that though, so i finished with double reps of jumping pull ups for the second and third round. 20:54.
Love the picture!
Finishing off some organic beef jerky as I read the article. Heard arguments on both sides of this issue with data about pesticides, etc. I actually argued for standard, non-organic apples just yesterday. However there are a few advantages that organics have in certain foods and I’m not sure that a taste test, which is essentially what the article is written about, is the best measure for comparison.
For example, this jerky includes the following ingredients: “organic beef”, water, organic sugar, salt, organic wine vinegar, black pepper powder, garlic powder, yeast extract. That’s it. No powerful preservatives here. Plus, for people like myself that are intolerant to apples it is this or basically nothing for jerky because the standard big brands all saturate their meat with apple vinegar.
That’s just one example, and it may be a limited scope, but I believe there is some merit to looking for the organic brand on selected items. That said, 80% of organic marketing is just that – marketing.
13:56 (PR) – Started with 95#s but dropped down to 75#s(lost time changing plates) due to my jacked-up right wrist. Can’t hold the bar straight due to wrist flexibility and childhood injuries. 95#s felt OK but my form was poor. 95#s and sub 10 min will be my goal next time we do “Fran”(could not do thrusters at all last time).
9:51 as Rx’ed-(PR) All thrusters unbroken=YES(this is where I caught up); All pull-ups with chin above bar=NO. I think maybe once my hands have remotely healed, I stand a chance at saying this time was legitimate, and is in contention of making it on the board!
10:46 This workout was a lot worse than I anticipated it to be! ha! I think by body was still tired from “Angie” yesterday. Great job Kerri!!! I feel for you tonight in the shower!
Thanks Amy…can’t say I’ve looked forward to a cold shower lately…but tonight may be the night…..Oweeee….I’m just very thankful that it’s not more pull-ups tomorrow!!!
8:06 as Rx’d (pr) last time was my first @ 10:13. Pull ups are still not linked, thus a serious loss of time. I WILL GET IT!!!!Thanks Katie for your help on KPU’S after class.
7:14. pullups were terrible and russel probably would not have counted any of them but i can’t really do jumping pull ups here. anybody have suggestions for a sub for ring dips tommorrow?
Turns out Crossfit San Jose is a block down the street from where I’m working this week, so I dropped in there tonight. They don’t follow, so no Fran; Linda-the-trainer made up her own:
15 cleans
15 presses
15 d-ball slams
10 lunges w/ bar overhead
sprint 50 m, rest 15 sec, sprint back
x4 for time.
32:50 w/ 65# for the cleans & presses, a 12# ball, & a 15kg plate for the lunges
I buy organic milk exclusively. I love how it tastes. I can barely drink regular milk anymore. I also buy organic apples. I occasionally buy organic eggs. At the very least I try to buy cage free eggs. I’ve seen industrial chicken coops. Not a good place for chickens to live their formative years while hopped up on steroids. Nothing good can come out of that environment.
First attempt at “Fran”. Russell “suggested” I not scale the weight, so I did it as rx’d: 11:29. Almost forgot how much thrusters suck, but I am glad to do the WOD as rx’d. Boy, some of these times are RIDICULOUS! We’ve got some major meat-eaters here! Props to all the PR’s today. Strong work…
4:57. My thrusters were strong and rests were short but could not do pull-ups to save my life. I was doing singles for the last part of the round of 9.
cool picture! where was this?
Great job kicking ass today!! =)
Ellijay Ga
Good job today Tony Z
Awesome picture!
Looking forward to my first Fran this afternoon…..well sort of.
10:13pr
Improved by 8 minutes and still plenty-o-room for improvement. Goal will be sub-6 next time around.

I think Tony flew over me while I was doing push ups. It was crazy but he got back up and knocked it out!!
I did
“Angie” as rx
19:36
*Stuck around to watch Kevin beat up Fran 2:45-crazy fast and strong.
Badass pic Russell! I’m sure that was warm.

6:41 PR
The pullups slow me down more than the thrusters I think. Sub 6 next time.
4:32. PR by over a minute. Still had gas in the tank.
Sub 4 is def in reach.
Tried to hang with Justin but he just didn’t stop.
Then watched Russell the freight train.
God job krista on ur first Fran.
As Rx’d 8:09 (pr)
Having trouble doing the thruster movement with any speed. My descents (negative) is too slow.
2:28
Watch tomorrow be “Grace”.
1st time doing Fran

whatever the WOD is tomorrow, I hope it involves pull-ups…we haven’t done those in a while
Yeah. I still have some meat left on my hands.
“Lynne” tomorrow?

Power Snatch 8×2
135-145-155-165-165-165-175-175
Then
As many rounds as possible in 20 minutes:
15 One Arm (right) DB Thrusters 50 lbs
15 One Arm (left) DB Thrusters 50 lbs
Sprint 1/2 Gasser
Used 45# DB since we don’t have a 50#
5 rounds + 10 left arm thrusters
Scaled to 65# push-press rather than thruster due to the baby issue

I hear ya. Let me know when you figure it out!!
Ok Elizabeth sucks for me.
I can’t ring dip :'(
I’ll be at the bottom of the pack 2morrow.
Interesting message on “POSE method” on main site. Good info for those of you on the fence about the David Kyle clinic Dec. 19th. Im a believer.

Off to Florida again. See you guys next week.
6:08 = PR = first time ever doing Fran
The thrusters were a lot harder than expected. Lots of room for improvement there.
Thanks, Amy! You did great too.
