    I watched the video once this morning, and couldn’t really see much. My guess would be over extension or lack of keeping your core tight?

    Looks like the leotard was riding up your nether regions and the monster belt was cramping your style.

    Seriously, the Clean looked good (don’t know how you cleared that buckle on the second pull, but you did) The drive up and split of the Jerk look good, but something went wrong in the recovery. Looks like the weight shifted backward off the shelf when you attempted to bring your front foot back.

    Russell, it looks like you took too big of a step back with your front foot, instead of taking a half step back, then a half step forward with your back foot. Or maybe I have that process reversed?

    Patrick is the closest guess! I took one big step backwards instead of two small steps backwards and then forwards. I put A LOT of momentum on that 260+ pound bar and it kept going back while I tried to fight it and keep it over my head… it won.

        Okay, watched it a couple more times and compared it with your 1st and 2nd C&J attempts. Was the weight ever stable overhead? Looks like you had it locked overhead then took the “big” front foot step back and lost it backward. Or, was it already falling back off the shelf and it only looks like the step back caused the dump? On your successful attempts it looks like your barely move the front foot back at all.

    Congrats this weekend. The clean looks good – two things that caught my eye: (1) your shoulder position when you started the first pull – they are not pulled back and tight – should they be? (2) would you be stronger coming out of the front squat with your toes were pointing more forward in your receiving position?

    Two guesses on the jerk: (1) I’ve heard the cue to point your forearms in the direction that you want the bar to go – are your elbows too high? (2) is the bar off-center?

      Coach Bugener said it was a solid lift minus the big step. Funny how such a simple slip can cause it all to fail. He said he plans on using this video in his certs to show what not to do…

    11:45 – Horrible time but just can’t catch my breath.

    I always enjoy those WOD’s where fellow crossfitters jump in and help encourage me towards the end of the WOD.

    5:53 but scratch that…..watched the video and apparently I can’t count to 8…..did 7 burpees in about half of the rounds. Math has never been a strong point in my life. I really hope I don’t show up in Russell’s video to again faster.

    I’m doing this on again with a Rep counter and a better time.

    6:01 – What a suckfest! Great job to the whole 5:30 class. Thanks to Jake and Tracey for making it enjoyable, really liking the incorporating of the agility ladder to the warm-ups.

    Not very happy with this. Had some really bad shin splints today from doing all the box jumps in “Jack” and the runs were just painful from the get go. Plan on doing it again in a few days

    7:21. Will do again also. I also lost count on reps!!! 8 is a higher math number for me. I may have done a few extra??? I am looking forward to it. Maybe this weekend?

    I agree with Josh warm up was different and fun! 8:48 running is my enemy so I’m pretty pleased with this time…for now at least!!
