    Utah/Arizona Sectional WOD #4
    4 rounds:
    750 row
    30 DU
    15 Burpees

Can definitely improve on that time. First round of DU’s was a total disaster. Finally settled down and found a solid DU rhythm for rounds 2-4

Smoker of a WOD. Not fun at all.

Good work from the morning classes today. This was a tough workout and everyone has pushed hard.

7am crowd, lets plan on going out to an 8AM breakfast after a workout next week. Respond to this comment if you can come.

I will be out of town Monday and Tuesday of next week, so Wed-Fri would be better for be.

    • Kyle Mosier says:

I can hang around for an 8:00 breakfast. Any day is okay, but Thursday would be the least preferable.

Quick Question for Tracey or Russell: I used to drink these EAS Myoplex Carb Control shakes quite often (a previous trainer got me hooked on them as my late afternoon snack and/or for recovery). Since I started Zoning, I haven’t had one. I love them, they aren’t super expensive (I get them at Sams) & I think they’re filling for a snack. Is this something I can still have on the Zone–or do you even recommend products like this?

    • Tasha W says:

I have a fridge full of them, that’s why I’m asking! ๐Ÿ™‚ (They’re just so dang easy cause you grab and go.)

    • tracey says:

I’d say they are ok. You would need an addition carb and fat though. As long as you get ALL your blocks in for that snack/meal it seems alright. Ideally you should avoid man made foods, but since you have them already and they are very easy to pack while on the go.

Responding to the 7 am breakfast can we do it Thursday of next week? I will be out of town the first 3 days of the week.

Tough WOD. Team Curry:) 21:50. Scaled w/ pike knee to elbows.
I thought the Overhead Squats into the run was a great triathalon transition workout! I felt as if I was going from the bike to the run on that one!

    I need some Zone help!!!

Tried it during the challenge but 10 days of vacation put that to rest….and my living situation doesn’t help.

Live on a boat…with a dorm sized fridge and limited pantry space. Needless to say I can’t cook a weeks worth of meals. I have a one burner stove ….tiny oven…and a microwave…none of which can be used at the same time ๐Ÿ™‚ Also have limited time during the week….am only home for 1 1/2-2 hours before time to hit the sack . This is usually when we give up and eat something quick and crappy.

I need simple YET good meal ideas that are zone/paleo friendly. My body doesn’t like dairy and I am technically allergic to eggs although I can eat them in small doses.

here’s what i do when traveling (& have the same tiny fridge & a microwave in the lobby):
starkist tuna creations are 4.5 oz packets in a variety of flavors that go great on top of a spinach salad.
avocados! kiwi! cantaloupe! oh my! If you have room to store, they’re great & easy to get into.
also like to get spicy hummus and deli turkey/swiss cheese slices…they go really well together as a rollup!
at home, we get the big almond butter at costco & keep in the fridge…put it on apple slices.
also, get their smoked almonds & rotisserie chicken…deboned it doesn’t take up that much fridge space.

I will also be out of town next week.

Just wanted to let everyone know that one of our members, Amanda Howard, is having a ribbon cutting at 3:30pm tomorrow in honor of the opening of Amanda Howard Real Estate. There will be light hors dโ€™oeuvres, wine, and beer following from 330-630 and it all takes place at 900-A Merchants Walk. She wanted to let everyone know that they are more than welcome to attend!

Same WOD as Kevin, but had to sub single unders. The Memphis YMCA didn’t have a good rope and I had left mine in the hotel room. Did 60 single unders each round.

Hotel fun time, while waiting on more snow in DC:
Run up 12.5 floors (210 steps), stop each floor on way down, alternating 20 pushups/situps.
    Run back up, run down.
    140 ea, pushups & situps

    Concerning the Rest Day Article:
Needs the disclaimer “this is going to be awfully mathy”. I get the point, no measurement can be perfectly accurate. But I don’t find the subject particularly compelling. I’ll never understand how math geeks find this type of mental masturbation enjoyable.

I never get to say this but….finished as RX’d 34:17 with Tracy and Corrie

wasn’t lightening fast but hell we finished!! Knees to elbows killed my hands.

Glad to see 2 of the 3 groups that finished as RX’d were ladies….woot woot!!

  14. Tasha W says:

We had an awesome all-girl group, too!! Kerri, Amy and myself finished as Rx’d, 23:54!

I’m with Em….. woot woot! I could definitely use a little work on my KTE, but we ROCKED the squats and burpees! Oh, and Kerri was SOOO pumped up right after the workout that she made me laugh so hard—I almost peed myself! If my abs are sore tomorrow, it’s probably more from that laughing fit than the KTE!!

    • Kerri says:

It was tough, and I’m sorry for any of the squats that weren’t counted b/c my burning legs wouldn’t allow me to stay low in the squat!!!!=o)
KTEs always need work, but, shooting for completing 10 at a time with rest, helped us get it done!!

And, Tasha, hey, you just gotta celebrate when it’s appropriate….when I see abs, well, it’s time to celebrate!! Who cares if they showed up b/c we’d just ripped em to shreds for the last 24 minutes….2 pack, 4 pack, 6 pack, whatever the combination, I’ll take it!!!!!!!

TGFRD(Thank God For Rest Days!!!!!! )

Amanda, I’m shooting for being there after work for the Open House…Congrats!!

  15. J.D. says:

Been MIA this week as my wife hurt her back so I’m “Mr. Mom” after work. Have a meeting in Nashville next three days then hopefully back on track (such as it is…).
