warehouse 2pull upsrowtired

Our second warehouse was just up the street from our current location on Leeman Ferry. It was a big, open space with lots of room for our growing CFHSV community. Compared to our current location it was pretty rough, but for those who endured the dirty warehouse it was a big step up! We now had two bathrooms instead of just one, and it wasn’t nearly as dirty. And as you can see, by now most athletes were wearing shoes regularly! It was our home while our current facility, that was once just a vision, started becoming a reality just about a half a mile down the road.

  2. Stacey says:

Yes!! Where I started cfhsv in 2010.
Sad the last day at the “old” box is tomorrow, but excited for the new box this weekend!!

I’ve enjoyed our “old” box. I can’t wait for the new one! Thanks to the Millers for investing in our new future location! With a city full of CrossFit gyms and “Tribes”, CFHSV does it right! Blessed to be part of such a great community of athletes.

4:15 tomorrow with my homies, and one last picture on the wall, arm in arm! A great chipper to go out on!

Warehouse #2 – This is where the leadership team started to shift and grow. After CFHSV unofficially hosted the Crossfit Regionals competition at Braham Springs Park in 2010 (The only year they did a sectionals competition) Russell started to shift his focus to working for Crossfit headquaters. Fortunately, there were great coaches to step in and carry CFHSV forward. Josh Glasscock and Tracey became a coaching presence and toward the end of the lease, Dennis showed up. This box was bigger and cleaner than Warehouse #1. Fond memories include the one (and only) time we performed 400m walking lunges for time (I can still feel the burn), Playing burpee dodgeball in the back of the warehouse, Lesha fileting her shin wide open on a box jump box during filthy 50, and the start of the Paleo Diet lectures. This warehouse felt like a stop gap as we all had our focus on the “new” building designed specifically for CFHSV.

Fun Fact – Rich Froning was a participant in the Crossfit Sectionals in Huntsville in 2010. He was an unknonwn athlete at that time and completely destroyed all of the meat heads in our section. Hilarious to think about the athlete that was in our competition.

Suggestion – Follow @russellberger and @crossfitphotojournal on instagram for Russell’s interesting perspective on Crossfit – especially his latest trip to Israel, Palestine, and Jordan for Crossfit

I’m planning to drop in tonight for 6:15 class. Paying respects to the building that housed us the longest.

Anyone else planning on “Marty Mcflying” around the track in today’s WOD as a tribute to the gravel monster!?

  9. Devonne says:

I had to leave on a high note running around the gravel track for the last time. I will miss this location…I started in the old warehouse before this one.

Russell Berger had me doing Tabata air squats as part of my 101 with one other person (yes, only 2 people). Couldn’t sit down for a week. I can’t believe I did not quit then. So glad I didn’t. CFHSV is the bomb!! I have loved every minute of it and truly enjoy the good folks that make this a great box. Can’t wait to start my new adventure at the new box!!

    52:40 Rx…bye bye gravel track :-)!

  10. Dani says:

Some days…my only motivation in getting around that track is looking up and seeing the buzzards high over head. Today carries much more motivation for me! Love this pretty weather; looking forward to it! Great post Larry and Devonne!!

  11. Mimi says:

A: 34:51- ran 1600; scaled the last 400 of the 1200 to a row; scaled the 800 run to a 400m row; then ran last 400
Can’t wait to see everyone on Saturday! CFHSV is what it is because of the people no matter where our location is!

  12. Josh Kennedy says:

    26:15 Rx’ed with 1.5pd

  13. Bradley says:

Great last WOD in the “old box.” Today marks almost 4 years to the day of my first WOD at CFHSV. I have loved every minute and every moment of my journey here at CFHSV. Can’t wait for many more great memories to come. Keep up the great work CFHSV!

  14. Jay T says:

    Well said MImi!
It’s really encouraging to journey through the pain cave sharing an experience where everyone gives 100% of their personal limits and then pushes out another 10% just in case there was gauge error.

  15. Kyle O says:
