Thrusters are the devil!!!!! I liked the posted warmup idea. I got 21 chest to bar pull ups today (PR) on the first set of 50. I’m beginning to think the more you push away on the bar at the top of the movement to help your kip, the more sliding the hand makes and the more skin you take. It makes the pullup easier, but it punishes your hand. When I watch Russell exercising, his grip does not slide as much and his movement is more up and down than circular (as far as the center of his chest). He was setting a new land speed record as I was leaving.
worst I’ve ever felt. Dry heaved and couldn’t stand up for 30 minutes after this workout. I blame drip coffee in part. I’ve got to go back to espresso.
Stuck in hotel had to alter this one due to equipment. Treadmill for 400s and strict pullups.

The last time we did a WOD with thrusters I scaled them to 75 lbs, so rx weight on this one was tough. That really slowed me down. Pullups are getting much better.
Idid chest to bar pull-ups on the first set and smashed my chin on the bar on number 33. I bit the hell out of my tongue and dropped off of the bar. I think I could have knocked out 10 more if that wouldn’t have happened.
24:33 scaled to 75#. Shoulder still an issue and flexibility is definitely a problem.
On the plus side. Shoulder stronger every day, and flexibility is improving.
Workout was awesome for generating the shakes….which reminds me….I’m down almost 10 lbs from when we started the zone diet with more than 2 weeks to go. Now holding out hope that I’ll rid myself of the fat jacket completely. Thanks Russell for having the challenge.
Pissed at myself after this WOD not because my hands hurt but because I just had a mental issue getting back on the bar for the last 20 or so pull-ups. Work has been extremely stressful this whole month and there is definitley something to be said for stress affecting workouts. I hate that I am not performing my best but mentally I feel drained. Hopefully when Q3 is over I can re-balance life a little bit more.
Garth… look at my hands on the pic posted for Friday. Mechanics gloves FTW. Your grip is a lot better without them and you can do more pullups without them, but if you don’t want slivers of meat hangin from your hands, it’s an option. Everybody busts my balls for it, but there ain’t no shame in my game 😀

I really dislike drip coffee, but its cheaper.
Espresso- tastes good, small volume, lots of caffeine
Drip coffee- tastes like dark tea, huge volume to get an equal amount of caffeine
