After talking with Mandee and Nathaniel, I really want to share some things about my trip that might be of interest to the CrossFit Huntsville family. I’m not going to put this on Facebook, so everything I write will just be on the CrossFit Huntsville website. My goal is to share something everyday and post it by 8:15 each night. I hope you all will like it.

This year I have a new coach who will be coaching me in Wisconsin. His name is Nathaniel Stearns. From now on he will be known as HEAD COACH. I have already told head coach that he can not smoke in the training area. He has agreed that he will only smoke cigarettes outside in the designated smoking area.

The first thing I want to tell you about is the jersey that all Games athletes wear in the masters age division. Everyone has a number on their jersey. You can tell what age division they are in and where they placed coming out of the online qualifier. For example. I finished 5th in the world coming out of the qualifier and I am in the age division 50-54. All athletes in this division will have a number that begins with 50. The last number indicates where you finished. My number will be 505. Next year I will move up to the 55-59 age group. Numbers in this age group begin with 55. So if I were in that age group this year, my number would be 555.
So when you see an athlete with his jersey on, you will know what age division they are in and where they are ranked. As an athlete you must have a jersey on all the time. This is kind of like a wrist band. It allows you full access to different areas of the Games.

So when you see the CrossFit games T-shirts that were just put out by CrossFit Huntsville, you will notice that my truck tag number is 505. My HEAD COACH is so slick.

The Duk5 is back!! I’m looking forward the chearing for you this weekend. You put in a lot of hard work to get back to the games. Congratulations.

      See you in Madison.

RV hits the highway early tomorrow full of support for Paul and his quest to be the fittest. 505 is gonna be rollin deep in Wisconsin. And I’m show gonna be on my best behavior – only smokin in designated areas and drinkin my drank from a yeti instead of a solo cup. We skippin’ into the Games ready!

    • Mandee says:

I’m so pumped and excited to be heading to Madison tomorrow and I can’t wait to cheer you on, Paul! What an amazing accomplishment and unbelievable comeback it is to make it back to the Games this year. You are a class act in every way and we are so proud to have you representing CrossFit Huntsville! And let me tell you — you’ll have the most passionate, motivating, dedicated coach by your side, fighting for you every step of the way 🤗
