    Rx’d 150 lbs.

Good luck to everyone who is doing 11.4 and good job to everyone that’s completed it!

  2. Justin says:

145 for the first 2 sets, 140 for the rest.

I’m going out of town this weekend through Sunday so did 11.4 this morning. Very disappointing! Recap:Burpees in sub 4 min(decent), pick up the bar – 4 OHS (eh), then, Patti-cake with the bar and cartwheels for six min.(fun but not productive) Fast Forward- Mandee-“fifteen seconds left” Boom. Four more reps. WTH? It’s all mental with me. Next time(if i get another chance)= less patti-cake and carwheels, more Overhead squatting. Less think and more do. I need the “go” button. Regardless, good luck to everyone doing this tomorrow! Oh yeah, total reps = 77 i think

Did 11.4 today as well and would like to offer advice to those who might struggle with the weight. For me 90# is my max OHS anyway, so I was hoping to get at least one rep. My problem was that I didn’t rest enough in between the burpees and the OH squats. After I finished, Jake said I probably needed to rest for two minutes after the burpees before I attempted the lifting movement. I agree with him.

I was mentally freaked out since the weight was a previous PR for me anyway, and my legs and shoulders were shaky. As a result, I bonked my head with the bar twice during the lifting attempts. I’m pretty sure it echoed throughout the box. I was done after that. 0+60 reps.

I did the open workout this morning as well, and at the 10 minute cutoff only had 82 reps completed. My shoulders were fried after the burpees and I just couldn’t keep the weight overhead for more than 5 reps at a time. I’ll take a different approach on Sunday, and hopefully I’ll get to the MU’s. I think my shoulders are fatigued from my workout yesterday and trying to do handstands over and over on the beach. Or at least, I hope that’s it.

agree with resting a bit longer than usual between the burpees and the OHS. I transitioned immediately and those first 3 OHS reps were miserably painful, unsteady, and a total waste of energy just trying to stabilize the weight over head. I think a 10-12 second rest between burpees and OHS…then OHS and MU’s will pay dividends.

At least that’s what I’m hoping.

I did 11.4 yesterday, 60 reps. No OHS for me.

  7. DaveC says:

    75# for 1st 7, then 95# for the last 3.

Did the 11.4 last night. Fundamentally the same problem with the weight I had last week on 11.3: part of the move was at PR less than 24 hours old, and part was 20#+ over PR.

At first I was kinda grumpy about all the burpees before trying to lift the bar, but in hindsight my score of 60 this week is asthetically more pleasing than last week’s score of 1 even though the performances were essentially equal. 🙂

    77 reps

Burpee pace was perfect for me, but I missed a couple of OHS that cost me a ton of time. I’m considering this an improvement after last week’s shenanigans with my wrist.

    rx’d 135#

Turns out Russell will be arriving at about 930am tomorrow. I’m going to do my best to pick him up and come straight to the 10am yoga but may be a few minutes late! He is coming back from over a week in Iraq so I hate to make him catch a cab!

Oh, and congrats to Joe Ritch (pictured above) on being inducted into the Huntsville Athletic Hall of Fame this week! Way to go!

  13. AJ says:

Is there a 9am WOD tomorrow?

  14. Brady wakefield says:

    Open 11.4 this morning…
    65 reps. Rx’d

Good luck to everyone tomorrow doing this, stretch those shoulders.
