Our CFHSV community patiently awaited the construction of our current facility for what felt like forever. But finally, in late 2010, it was ready for us to make it our permanent home. At the time, it seemed like more space than we could ever imagine needing. We were ecstatic with our new box and all that it offered our athletes. Plenty of space, full locker rooms, a full kitchen and to top it off, it was clean! Our iconic “H” wall served as the perfect backdrop for any photograph, and our beautiful track made all those running WODs so much better.

But with the growth of our CFHSV community came the need for more equipment, which in turn led to less and less space over the years. Unbelievably, by 2014, we realized our once huge facility was somehow shrinking. And by late 2014, we realized that we had to make a tough decision — to move out of the building that we love, and that was designed and constructed solely for CrossFit Huntsville.

Tonight, we held our last class in this amazing facility. Over the years, thousands of athletes have graced this building with their effort, leaving their blood, sweat and tears along the way. Our last day at 3228 Leeman Ferry Road was no different. Our CFHSV athletes showed up and showed out, giving it their all one more time before our big move.

While we are sad to say goodbye to what has been our home for so many years, we are beyond excited about what the future holds for CFHSV. We truly cannot wait to unveil your new box.

Enjoy two days of rest, and get ready to throw down on Saturday!

We’ll see you down the road, CFHSV!

I’m all verklempt now! I remember the first time I walked in the door. Nathaniel greeted me and pulled over a bench so I could check out a wod and Jamie sat on that bench with me for the better part of an hour and explained everything I was seeing. I was nervous as heck, but they made it feel like home right off the bat. And that feeling has never gone away.

So thankful to be a part of such a strong, wonderful community and I can’t wait to see our new home!

People always ask me ‘what I like about CrossFit’ and without hesitation, I always say ‘the people I have met that I probably would have never met otherwise’. However, seeing this picture of myself staring at that wall makes me sentimental because even though I have been involved with CFHSV from day 1, I didn’t start until 2012 in this gym. So many memories….
Our family is so excited to unveil our new CFHSV home to you all, but we know this box holds a special place in so many hearts for so many reasons!!! I can promise the new box won’t disappoint…get ready for some amazing surprises!

Just a note, if you need a CF fix, drop in at another local box! It’s a great way to meet new folks and grow our community.

    Recovery workout:
A: 5k light run at Hsv XC course, 24:17
    B: 4 rds NFT: 25 airsqts, 25 push-ups, 25 sit-ups
    – did the job, but sure wasn’t the same! This past August I hit my 1 year mark as a member of CFHSV! In that time I have had the privilege of being trained by the greatest coaches CF has to offer! Each coach is always there to ensure we are one step closer to perfection. The encouragement each coach gives is without said. The CFHSV community is by far the best. We engage in conversation, crack up, talk trash, have fun, encouage and support one another. This brings us closer together as one unit, which im pleased to say I’m a part of. Our facility is by far one of the greatest in the country. I have had a blast given the opportunity to train under this roof, within these walls. My God, it has been cold and it has been hot, but no matter the temperature we have grown stronger together! I look forward to continuing this incredible journey with each and every one of you, just down the street! See y’all Saturday!

I’m sad to be missing all this excitement. I feel like my home is being moved while I’m gone. I’m with you all in spirit on Saturday though. Best wishes with the new place!
